I never dreamed that I would write a book on teaching and preaching, especially because I’m not the best speaker I’ve ever heard! But I have been an avid student of public speaking and I’ve learned a lot from my own experiences and from the thousands of presentations I’ve watched or listened to. And fortunately, I’ve had the privilege of knowing some great communicators throughout the years.
In today’s world, people have access to the very best Bible teachers through radio, television, and online resources. It often leaves local church pastors feeling horribly inadequate as communicators, when compared to the best of the best. Some have had little or no training in public speaking.
The goal of this book is to offer encouragement for Christian leaders to continue to grow in their ability to deliver messages that are pleasing to God and edifying to people.
